- Description
The Ancon FHR 100/140 Dual Head Restraint is a high-performance solution for securing the top of masonry walls or the internal leaf of cavity walls. This head restraint is designed to accommodate both 100mm and 140mm blockwork, providing flexibility in various construction projects. The two angles clamp over the top of the wall, forming an "F" shape. This system allows for vertical movement, accommodating shrinkage and thermal expansion, while also preventing lateral displacement at the top of the wall.
The FHR head restraint features 10mm diameter holes for securing with M8 bolts. The longer angle includes dual holes to accommodate both 100mm and 140mm masonry thicknesses. It is typically installed at 450mm or 900mm centres, depending on the load requirements, with a design resistance of 1890N. The gap between the top of the wall and the structure above should not exceed 25mm.
This blockwork head restraint can be used in both residential and commercial buildings, and can be fixed to concrete soffits using M8 expansion bolts or to structural steelwork using M8 isolated setscrews.
