Installation essentials

1. Lap 100 mm minimum; bond laps with Hyload butyl tape or mastic.

2. Support large widths (>450 mm) every 450 mm with DPC fixing strip.

3. Protect from UV – close masonry the same day or cover with temporary sheeting.

4. Joint to membranes – torch-on or self-adhesive membranes lap 150 mm onto Hyload, warmed with a hot-air gun for fusion.

Frequently asked questions

Can Hyload Original be used as a gas barrier?

Yes—when fully sealed with Hyload butyl tape it becomes methane-tight; for high-risk brownfield sites upgrade to Visqueen Gas Barriers.

Is priming required?

Only on rough concrete or dusty block—prime with Visqueen Axiom Uniseal.

What’s the shelf life?

Indefinite if stored upright, under cover and away from heat >50 °C.

Can I bond Hyload to stainless steel lintels?

Yes—use Hyload mastic or double-sided tape; clean steel first with solvent wipe.
