  • Description

Visqueen Polyethylene Damp Proof Course 900mm is a black, flexible damp proof course (DPC) suitable for masonry wall constructions. The DPC is manufactured to BS 6515:1984, a British Standard that specifies the requirements for damp proof courses.

Visqueen DPC is made from a minimum of 85% recycled polyethylene, making it an environmentally friendly option. It has a diamond embossed surface that improves mortar adhesion, ensuring a secure and long-lasting bond between the DPC and the masonry. This DPC is a cost-effective option that meets the minimum DPC standard, making it an ideal choice for various construction projects.

    Key Features:

    • Manufactured to BS 6515:1984
    • UKCA CE Mark EN 14909:2012 Type A
    • Made from recycled polyethylene
    • Diamond embossed surface for improved mortar adhesion
    • Cost-effective

    Technical Information:

    • Material: Polyethylene
    • Colour: Black
    • Thickness: 0.5mm
    • Roll length: 30m
    • Width: 900mm

    Installation:

Visqueen Polyethylene Damp Proof Course can be cut with a sharp retractable safety knife or robust scissors.

DPCs and DPC cavity tray systems should be designed and installed in accordance with the relevant sections of BS 8215:1991, PD 6697:2019 and BS 8000-3:2020.

When built into a masonry wall construction, Visqueen Polyethylene Damp Proof Course should be installed on an even bed of wet mortar, and any perforations in adjacent courses of masonry should be completely filled with mortar.

To ensure mortar adhesion, as soon as possible after laying the DPC, lay at least one further course of masonry, including a bed of mortar.

If positioned on the sleeper walls below a suspended ground floor, the DPC can be dry laid; however, all sharp protrusions must be removed from the substrate. The DPC must extend through the full thickness of the masonry wall, including pointing, applied rendering, or other facing materials.

When using a hammer tacker to secure the DPC to an OSB3 substrate of a timber frame construction, use minimum 8mm shank authentic stainless steel staples at a minimum of 150mm centres.

All DPC to DPC laps should be a minimum of 100mm and bonded with Visqueen 100mm Double Sided Butyl Tape.
