Concealed Weepholes

Concealed Weep Holes – Vent Walls • Drain Cavities • Keep the Façade Clean

Traditional open weep vents do the job—and advertise it. Concealed weep holes give you all the moisture drainage and NHBC compliance without the visual clutter. Slide a colour-matched Rytweep® or Timloc Invisiweep® tube into the perp joint, trim flush and the only thing you’ll see is perfect brickwork.

Why choose concealed vents?

Discreet aesthetics

Face dimensions just 7 × 65 mm vanish in the mortar line—ideal for heritage brick, glazed façades and premium homes.

Fully NHBC & BBA accepted

4 mm internal path meets the 3 : 1 water-drop test and 25 mm minimum cavity penetration set out in NHBC Chapter 6.1.

Fire-safe options

Invisiweep A1 zinc satisfies Building Regs for external walls over 11 m; pair with non-combustible extension tubes.

Fast to install

Push-fit body, clip-on baffle and snap-off front tab—one vent in under 20 seconds.

Where to install weep holes

  • Above cavity trays – over lintels, bay windows and parapets; team with our Timloc Inter-Loc trays.

  • At floor edges – one per 450 mm run behind ARC Party-Wall DPC Horizontal barriers.

  • Retaining walls – every brick course if hydrostatic pressure is a risk; use extension tubes to reach face brick.

Vent spacing rule: 2 bricks (450 mm) apart, minimum two vents per tray/run.

Installation in three quick steps

  1. Insert tube deep enough to project 10 mm past insulation; cut off excess.

  2. Clip on baffle (Invisiweep) or leave integral upstand (Rytweep) to shed any wind-driven rain.

  3. Point flush with surrounding mortar—logo tab snaps off after curing.

Top tip: Keep tubes free of mortar snots—drop a clear extension tube through the cavity to catch debris, then withdraw after pointing.

Frequently asked questions

Do concealed weeps reduce airflow?

No. The 4 mm x 9 mm internal path exceeds NHBC’s 165 mm² open area requirement.

How many per opening?

Minimum two—one at each jamb. Wider openings need additional vents each 450 mm.

Can I retro-fit in existing brickwork?

Yes—rake out the perp joint, drill a 7 mm hole to the cavity and push-fit a single-vent pack.

Are they suitable above 18 m?

Only the A1 metal version (zinc) complies with Regulation 7(2); plastic weeps must stop at 18 m.
