Low Thermal Conductivity Ties
Traditional stainless ties conduct heat about 20 × faster than modern insulation—robbing you of U-value credits and risking surface mould at junctions. Ancon Teplo ties solve the problem with a pultruded basalt-fibre body that delivers full structural performance at a thermal conductivity of just ≈ 0.7 W/m·K (stainless ≈ 16 W/m·K). That single change can shave up to 0.03 W/m²·K off a cavity-wall ψ-value and help your SAP calc sail through Part L.

Key advantages at a glance
Ultra-low λ ≈ 0.7 W/m·K —cuts heat loss and condensation risk at junctions.
BBA Certificate 16/5338 for structural performance and durability.
Up to 1.5 kN tension / compression—matches Type 2 loading in PD 6697.
Integrated drip moulded into the body—no water tracking.
Colour-coded clips show cavity range at a glance and lock insulation tight.

Installation essentials
Density – 2.5 ties/m² on a 450 × 900 mm grid; double within 150 mm of openings.
Embedment – 75 ± 10 mm into the outer leaf and 65 ± 10 mm inner leaf; seat the drip mid-cavity.
Fixing – push fit by hand; Teplo’s ribbed shank grips the mortar as it cures.
Movement joints – use stainless movement ties at 10-12 m centres where needed.
Service life – basalt-fibre is immune to corrosion; design life ≥60 years even in coastal sites.
FAQs
Are Teplo ties fragile?
No—the ribbed basalt body easily handles site knocks; use normal care when loading bricks.
Do they need compression sleeves?
Only on cavities >150 mm where spec calls for lateral stiffness. Add stainless compression sleeves if required by the engineer.
Galvanic corrosion with steel frame?
Teplo-L uses an isolation washer on the anchor leg, preventing bimetallic interaction.
