Concrete & Masonry Screws

High-load anchoring with an impact driver—no plugs, no fuss

Need a fixing that bites straight into concrete, brick or block and can come out again if the setting-out changes? Concrete screws do the job in seconds. All our screws feature a dual-thread tip that cuts its own mating thread, giving immediate load capacity without the hammer-drill/plug routine. From heavy-duty façade restraint plates to ceiling hangers, Spechunter stocks both carbon-steel ETA options and full A4 stainless for aggressive environments—ready for next-day delivery.

Order before 12:00 and spend £200 ex-VAT for free next-working-day UK delivery. Need pull-out data? Call our fixings team on 0118 922 7941.

Why concrete screws over expansion plugs?

  • Speed: one drill bit, one driver bit—fixes in < 10 s.

  • Removable: back the screw out for temporary works or post-install adjustment.

  • Edge & spacing friendly: minimal expansion pressure means closer centres and edge distances.

  • ETA & CE ready: characteristic resistances baked into Eurocode design tables.

Installation best practice

  1. Drill pilot hole 2–3 mm deeper than embedment with an SDS-Plus masonry bit (use 6 mm for 6.0 Ø screws).

  2. Clean the hole—an air bulb or brush boosts pull-out by up to 20 %.

  3. Drive the screw using an impact driver; seat the head snug, not over-torqued.

  4. Add compression sleeves where the screw restrains a 25/14 channel or tie across cavities > 150 mm.

  5. Verify at least 6 full threads remain in the concrete after allowing for washer/plate thickness.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a setting torque?
Yes—usually 60-80 Nm for carbon screws, 45-55 Nm for stainless. Check the box label.

What’s the edge distance for concrete screws?
As low as 35 mm in C30/37 concrete (refer to ETA tables).

Can I use them in hollow block?
Yes, but derate the load by 50 % or inject polyester resin first for high loads.

Next-day delivery—any catches?
