Installation tips for a snag-free hand-over

  1. Sweep first – grit under sheet will scratch floors regardless of thickness.

  2. Overlap 150 mm & tape with Grey Reinforced Duct Tape; fold edges up skirting for spill containment.

  3. Label FR sleeves “Fire Door – Do Not Remove”; Building Control love it.

  4. Change overshoes when leaving wet trades to keep dust off carpet film.

  5. Remove carpet film inside 4 weeks on wool carpets to avoid adhesive shadowing.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pour self-leveller over heavy-duty TPS?
No – TPS is a temporary barrier. For wet trades use sacrificial hardboard or Flooshield HD.

Does hessian need watering?
Yes – lightly damp in frost conditions; it slows the hydration freeze not stops it.

Is the carpet film suitable on vinyl?
Use only on textile carpets; vinyl and timber need low-tack paper such as Flooshield.
