Breather Membranes

Obex CORTEX FR Breather Membranes are fire-rated vapour-permeable membranes designed for use in the external wall and roof build-ups of buildings requiring non-combustible or limited-combustibility construction. They allow water vapour to pass outward through the building fabric while preventing liquid water ingress — the fundamental function of a breather membrane — combined with fire performance classifications meeting current Building Regulations for high-risk buildings.

The CORTEX FR breather membrane range includes four products to cover different performance levels and applications:

• 0220FR – White Breather Membrane – standard FR breather for general wall underlay applications
• 0221FR – Black Breather Membrane (W2) – achieving the W2 reaction-to-fire classification for external wall applications
• 0223FR – Breather Membrane (W1) – the highest external wall fire classification (W1) for the most demanding fire-rated specifications
• 0520FR – Wide-Format Breather Membrane – 1500mm wide for efficient coverage on large-format wall panels
