TIMCO

From its Yorkshire base, Timco (T.I. Midwood & Co.) has spent three decades filling British vans with screws, anchors and site consumables that simply work. Whether you’re battening battens to block, drilling through a lintel or slicing clay brick, the red-box Timco logo means reliable performance, clear data and sensible trade pricing. Spechunter keeps the core Timco range on the shelf, so you can add it to the same basket as your cavity trays and wall ties.

Why trades stick with Timco

  • ETA & UKCA certification on nylon hammer fixings—pull-out values ready for O&M files.

  • A2 stainless options across popular sizes for coastal or swimming-pool zones.

  • High-grade 40Cr drill steel on SDS bits—up to 1 000 °C tip brazing for long life.

  • Red box trade packs—clear labels, counted quantities and QR links to data sheets.

  • One-stop compatibility—hammer fixings match our Stress Plates and SDS bits pair with Concrete & Masonry Screws.

Installation tips

  1. Blow out drill dust—hammer-fixing pull-out jumps by ~20 % in a clean hole.

  2. Seat the collar flush; overtightening crushes the nylon sleeve and weakens grip.

  3. Edge distance—≥50 mm in brick, ≥70 mm in aerated block to avoid splitting.

  4. Cool abrasive discs—let the wheel free-spin for 10 s after each long cut to avoid glazing.

  5. Rotate SDS bits—swap between two bits on heavy concrete to limit tip heat-soak.

FAQs

Are Timco nylon hammer fixings fire-rated?
Polyamide sleeves soften above 80 °C, so they’re for non-fire-critical fixings. Use stainless through-bolts behind fire barriers.

Can I use Timco SDS-Plus bits in rotary-only mode?
Yes, but the carbide point is optimised for hammer action—progress will be slower.

Shelf life on abrasive discs?
Two years stored dry; discard if the expiry date on the blotter label has passed.

Delivery cut-off & surcharges?
Order by noon, hit £200 ex-VAT; see delivery info for Highlands & Islands.
